Yesterday the priest at my church announced that he is retiring. Transitions are difficult, and the saddest part is that once he leaves he will no longer be attending our church, for at least two years. I, along with a whole slew of us, will sorely miss him. He might be surprised to know that, because I only talked to him one-on-one once, when he was sitting at Barnes and Noble promoting the book he had written. However, his spiritual presence in my life was palpable just in the passing interactions we had week after week. That says a lot about his character.
Good luck, Gordon. As someone said to you yesterday during the passing of the peace, "You'll finally get some peace!"

I totally know what you mean. Our Phophet, Gordon B. Hincley passed away a few months ago, and yesterday in General Conference, we got to sustain the new one, Thomas S. Monson. I loved Hinckley, and the transition to Monson is going to be hard, but I just need to think that both are inspired by God to do his work, so it makes no difference.
