Richard's really getting interested in photography

More examples.

Sadness

Yesterday the priest at my church announced that he is retiring. Transitions are difficult, and the saddest part is that once he leaves he will no longer be attending our church, for at least two years. I, along with a whole slew of us, will sorely miss him. He might be surprised to know that, because I only talked to him one-on-one once, when he was sitting at Barnes and Noble promoting the book he had written. However, his spiritual presence in my life was palpable just in the passing interactions we had week after week. That says a lot about his character.
Good luck, Gordon. As someone said to you yesterday during the passing of the peace, "You'll finally get some peace!"

Spring

Spring has been here a while now, while other parts of the country are awash in rain or still battling with snow. This is the time of the year when Arizonans gloat and often remind ourselves how lucky we are to live here. That's of course, until the 100 degree weather arrives, and it will, soon.
But in the meantime the orange trees are blossoming and fragrant, the mesquites are once again full of green, and I can really enjoy taking Coco for a walk, runny nose and all.
